What to do until help arrives with water damage in your home

9/13/2017 (Permalink)

Every so often there is a surprise of having water damage in your home. When this happens it is critical to not do anything to hurt yourself or cause more damage in your home.

When you have a water loss the first thing to do is get a professional to come out an assess the situation. It is very important to recognize what is safe and not safe within the home.

Do not lift or try to move wet materials. These can be very heavy and spread more damage within the home.

Getting the home dry is critical to prevent secondary damages form happening. Most of the time if water sits for a few days, mold can start to form on the interior walls. This will then make the job more expensive  to mitigate.
